MY MISSION

Why I Built This Website

Transparency Isn't the Problem. It's the Solution.

If there's one lesson I've learned through all of this, it's that transparency isn't what creates conflict.

The lack of transparency does.

When information is difficult to find, shared with only a handful of people, buried in social media, or passed from person to person, confusion fills the gaps. Rumors start. People take sides. Trust erodes.

That's how communities end up where we are today.

One of the reasons I created The Horn Rapids Files was because I believe homeowners deserve equal access to publicly available information. Not just the people who happen to belong to the right Facebook group. Not just the people who know the right person. Everyone.

Public records belong in the public.

Keeping information organized in one place isn't about controlling the narrative. It's about removing the barriers that keep people from finding the facts for themselves.

I don't expect everyone to agree with my opinions. In fact, I hope people read the source documents and reach their own conclusions. That's the entire point.

An informed community doesn't weaken a neighborhood—it strengthens it. Transparency creates accountability. Accountability builds trust.

As Justice Louis Brandeis famously wrote, "Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants." I couldn't agree more.

The Horn Rapids Files isn't about secrecy, exclusivity, or gatekeeping. It's about making publicly available information accessible to every homeowner, regardless of where they get their news or whether they use social media at all.

Because information shouldn't belong to a select few.

It should belong to the community.
